Recycling of clay bricks

Generally, mechanical crushing methods such as roller crushers, jaw crushers, or ball mills are used to reduce the hard, fired bricks. The choice of method depends on the desired particle size and the intended application of the final product.

Because clay roof tiles made from fired clay are very hard and brittle, the crushing process must be optimized to achieve a uniform particle profile without generating excessive fine dust. Minimizing material loss and avoiding overheating of the tiles during the process are also important.

The finely crushed material can be used in a variety of applications, such as as an aggregate in concrete, for the production of flooring, or as a component of ecological building mixes. Recycling conserves natural resources and reduces environmental impact.
